Coming from a Web2 background, I knew it was time for me to do something different...something new. Starting this year, I had the knowledge of Ethereum, Solidity, Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency, NFTs. These probed me to the questions;
how does it work? what's the fuss about? is this really a way to blood money?
My curiosity grew from the spike of Bitcoin to an ATH price of $60k. At that point, I knew I wanted to be a part of this new web. Fast forward to Twitter(Twitter should be one of your most active social media as a techie), I needed to take action.
How do I get started?
I registered for courses on Udemy. Finished about 5 courses on NFTS, Ethereum Blockchain in 3 months. But I needed more. I reached out to @SamAyorinde, randomly. I mean sometimes you have to get up and shoot your shot at whatever you want. lol! Just sitting and asking is not enough. He introduced me to Web3bridge. Fortunately, their cohort V was open for registration then, I did register, passed the assessment test and had an interview. I passed!
It was time for the cohort to begin. The intriguing part about the resumption...lmao Cohort V was the first cohort (genesis cohort) with onsite privilege. To be honest, since I wasn't sure about web3bridge credibility, I'd ask my friend to follow me to the venue on the day of resumption. I didn't go there to resume but just to confirm I was not being kidnapped...lmao, you cannot be too careful in this country. Anyway, I was part of the online learners for a week till I realised I could do better onsite. ๐ The information we got before resumption was that accommodation will be provided with capped Internet provision and we have to cater for our welfare.
Guess what!, Web3bridge outdid themselves.
24/7 power supply
3 square meal
Conducive environment
Security
In fact, we didn't have to pay for anything. We were being paid at some point (you didn't hear that from me sha...lol).
During the program, I'd meet awesome guys. We've add fun memories to keep. I should have posted this embarrassing video of some of the guys during one of our night classes. Buh, Lemme pity them cos of their crushes
I'd be doing them a disservice if I fail to mention the amazing tutors. @Timidan went all out. At a point, he figured we did not really understand the basic concepts at the 4th week. He literally had to start all over. I owe my solid foundational knowledge to him. @jeremiah was always available to help out as well. @ebunayo I must say, I'd envy his drive and passion about making not just Web3bridge a success, but also to make sure he creates an enabling environment and opportunities to the participants. Thanks to him, I have been opened to several opportunities within a short period of time.
Finally, Web3bridge is absolutely a great and amazing place to start your journey as a Blockchain Developer. It will be a life-changing opportunity for your career(no long talk).
A special shout-out to the department of stomach infrastructure and administration at Web3bridge. Y'all rock!
